Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

Position: Associate/Senior Consultant –Entrepreneurship Development

Post Code: CON-56 No of position: 02 (Two)

Duration: The engagement is contractual initially for a period of one year which is extendable based on performance
and organizational priorities.

Consolidated Fee: The Consolidated fee for Associate Consultant shall be Rs.75,000/- and for Sr. Consultant shall be
Rs.1,25,000/- per month.

Job Description: BIRAC has been able to inculcate a culture of biotech entrepreneurship in the country. The consultant
would get an opportunity to work with SPED team and contribute in promoting and strengthening of innovation and
entrepreneurship development activities in the biotech sector at national level.

Reporting: The person will be working with respective program leads and reporting to Head-SPED.

Essential Qualifications: 4-years Bachelors/ Master’s degree program from a recognized institute in Life Sciences/ Pharma/ Biomedical sciences/ any other allied biological sciences domain; Or Master’s in Business Administration/ Entrepreneurship/ Public Policy/ Public Health with a 3-year bachelor’s degree in life sciences.

Desirable Qualifications:

PhD in Lifesciences/other allied sciences domain.

Experience :Associate Consultant: Post Qualification, 3 years to 10 years with minimum 2 years of experience in Product/ Technology Development/ Raising investments; who is Involved in the startup ecosystem either as a technical mentor/ investor/ service provider with demonstrated outcome

Senior Consultant: Post Qualification, between 11 to 19 years with minimum 5 years Industry experience in Product/ Technology Development/ Raising investments; who is Involved in the startup ecosystem either as a technical mentor/ investor/ service provider with demonstrated outcome.

Maximum Age:

Associate Consultant: 45 years

Senior Consultant: 50 Years
