Position Overview:
The Medical Coder (Fresher) will be responsible for converting medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatments into standardized codes for billing and record-keeping purposes. This entry-level position is ideal for freshers who are interested in starting a career in the healthcare industry and gaining expertise in medical coding.
Required Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Anatomy, Physiology, and Medical terminology.
- Familiarity with ICD-10- cm, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Good communication skills for documenting and reviewing patient information.
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain patient privacy.
Preferred Skills:
- Understanding of healthcare industry regulations (HIPAA, etc.).
- Certification in CPC/CIC/CRC/CCS is an added advantage
Job Description:
- Assign medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments based on clinical documentation.
- Ensure accuracy in coding and compliance with healthcare industry standards.
- Review patient charts and medical records to ensure completeness and correctness of the codes.
- Candidates already having work experience in Hospital Field is added advantage.
Qualifications:
Candidates with a Degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Allied Health, or any related field are preferred.
