Role : Logistics Associate
Experience: 1 year to 5 years
Job Location: Kolkata
Eligibility:
Minimum 15 years of regular, full-time education (10 + 2 + 3)
Non tech graduates (Preferably Bachelors degree in logistics, supply chain, or related field)
Willing to work in rotational shift
Skills & Responsibilities
Logistics and Dispatch Planning:
- Schedule and monitor daily dispatches for road and rail transportation.
- Coordinate with warehouse teams for load optimization and dispatch readiness.
Delivery and Invoice Processing:
- Track deliveries to ensure on-time completion.
- Verify and process invoices in line with agreed terms.
Documentation Management:
- Prepare and handle lorry receipts (LRs) and waybills, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Assist with waybill extensions when required.
Reporting and Reconciliation:
- Monitor and report idle time, delays, and transit deviations.
- Reconcile shipments, invoices, and documentation for accuracy.
Query and Escalation Management:
- Address and resolve customer, vendor, and internal team queries related to logistics operations.
- Address escalated queries and ensure prompt resolution of issues.
- Liaise with cross-functional teams to resolve operational bottlenecks.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and assist in their implementation.
- Implement changes in logistics processes to comply with new regulations
- Train team members on regulatory requirements and updates.
Team Supervision and Coordination:
- Lead a team of logistics associates, providing guidance and performance feedback.
- Ensure proper allocation of tasks and workload among team members.
Planning and Scheduling:
- Oversee logistics and dispatch planning for road and rail transport.
- Optimize schedules to minimize idle time and maximize cost efficiency.
Carrier Contract Management:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with carriers and transport providers.
- Monitor carrier performance against SLAs and resolve disputes.
Performance and Reporting:
- Prepare and review reports on key metrics such as idle time, delivery timelines, and cost.
- Identify trends and implement corrective actions to improve logistics outcomes.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvement and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency.
- Implement best practices in logistics and supply chain management.
